What is the Earth Day Every Day Festival?

The Langston Boulevard Alliance has partnered with Arlington Arts, Arlington Libraries, the Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia, Small Trees for Large Canopies, the Friends of Urban Agriculture, Capital Bikeshare, Ecoaction, Plan Langston Boulevard, Department of Environmental Services, and more to celebrate Earth Day with our second annual street festival. The festival will feature a juried art market, the Arlington Art Truck, kids’ art activities, the Arlington Library Truck, live music, food, environmental education and much more!

How is the festival being promoted?

Langston Boulevard Alliance will be promoting the festival through paid advertising and social media, a forthcoming dedicated website, our newsletters, and our many, many partnership organizations mentioned above.

Am I eligible?

The festival can accommodate approximately 34 artist vendor tents. All artists are invited to apply, but due to limited availability, not everyone will be selected. As this is an an Earth Day event, we are prioritizing vendors with a sustainability component – reclaimed, recycled, upcycled, nature-related, though this criteria is not required.

How do I apply?

Applications are accepted online or by mail by January 31. Space is limited: Please respond as soon as possible. Applications will be finalized by February 15.

What are the Fees?

Earth Day Every Day vendors pay a booth fee of $150 for a 10 x 10 space. This fee includes tent rental, setup and takedown of all tents, as well as two tables and two chairs per booth. All art vendors will be utilizing the same professional white 10’ x 20’ tents to allow for a streamlined setup. You are welcome to hang signs/banners on the tents or tables to promote your business. Fees are non-refundable after March 1.

Can I share a tent with another vendor?

Each vendor booth is furnished with a single 10x10 white tent, a 2x6 table, and 2 chairs. Many vendors find that this is ample space for multiple vendors to successfully operate. While tent sharing is allowed, LBA is not responsible for the coordination, communication or negotiation surrounding the use of those shared spaces. Both vendors can be listed on the festival website. If you are sharing a tent with a peer, please indicate that in your application. Payments will only be accepted in one installment.

What if it rains?

The event will be held rain or shine.

When is set up and break down?

Road closes at 7 am. Set up will be allowed between 9:30-11 am. Break down will be allowed from 5 – 6:30 pm. Staging for dropoff will be at LBA office. Detailed instructions to follow.
