Langston Boulevard Welcomes Manoukian Rugs

Manoukian Rugs

The Langston Community is so pleased to welcome Manoukian Bros Oriental Rugs to the neighborhood. While relatively new to Langston, the team at Manoukian Rugs are veterans to business in Arlington. Owner and longtime Arlington Resident Mikael Manoukian explains that his Grandfather and four great uncles (the brothers mentioned in the business’s title) started the business in 1922 after escaping Armenian Genocide. For the past 103 years, Mikael’s family has been serving Arlington and the greater DMV area.

This multi-generational, family owned, legacy business is a must see for come decor needs. Manoukian Bros Oriental Rugs is known for anything rugs related. They offer detailed cleaning and repair services in addition to selling the finest Oriental rugs in the region.

For a more in depth look into the Manoukian family’s journey, check out Hector Alejandro Arzate’s coverage of the family in his WAMU 88.5 American University Radio piece “The Family that Fled the Armenian Genocide. Their Arlington Rug Store Turns 100 This Year” and stay tuned, as we will be featuring Manoukian Bros Oriental Rug as a legacy business in our People & Places Project this spring.
