Join LBA this October at FREE events to celebrate the renaming of Langston Boulevard and learn about our corridor’s significant and prevalent history.
WALKING TOUR
Saturday, October 2 | 10:00-11:30 am
Join Wilma Killgo, President of the John M. Langston Civic Association, on October 2 for a Walking Tour discussing the history of racial injustice along the corridor and the community’s strategies to overcome and thrive. Meet at the Langston Brown Community Center at 10:00 am and prepare to visit multiple significant locations along the Boulevard, such as Fire Station 8.
FALL FESTIVAL
Join LBA and the Waverly Hills Civic Association at Woodstock Park for a FREE and family friendly day of festivities! The Festival will feature live music, food trucks, the R.E.A.D. book bus, and a multitude of other fun and free activities.

1:00pm Children’s theatre with Synetic Theatre
12-3:00pm Plein air art, live music, and food

Building a Beloved Community
The January meeting will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 7:00 pm. Our theme is “Building a Beloved Community”. “Beloved Community” is a vision of a society where justice, love, and equality prevail, popularized by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Our guest speaker is Rev. Dr. Adrian Nelson II, the pastor of Lomax African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and a Dr. King Scholar.

Volunteer Arlington honors this day by connecting individuals of all ages across Arlington and Northern Virginia to engage in meaningful service.
